1. Service provider
Fuel24 is a service available as an Android app and through the website fuel24.app. The service is operated by an independent developer. For any enquiry or request, please use the contact form.
Website hosting: Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc. — 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States).
2. Description of the service and data sources
Fuel24 is a free service that allows users to view live petrol prices (E10 Petrol, E5 Super Unleaded, Diesel B7, Super Diesel) at petrol stations across the UK, as well as EV charging points.
- Fuel prices are sourced from the UK Government's fuel price data service (fuel-finder.service.gov.uk), updated according to the frequency of publication of that official source.
- EV charging point data is sourced from OpenChargeMap (ocm.io), a collaborative open database. Fuel24 does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy or timeliness of this information.
- The service is not affiliated with the UK Government, petrol station operators or charging point operators.
- Data is provided "as is", without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness for a particular purpose.
- Any errors, omissions or delays in the data cannot be attributed to the service operator.
3. Service features
3.1 Website (fuel24.app)
The website allows you to use all core features directly in the browser, with no installation required:
- Interactive map: petrol stations and EV charging points displayed on an OpenStreetMap map.
- Location-based search: share your GPS position or search for a town, city or postcode.
- Fuel type selection: E10 Petrol, E5 Super Unleaded, Diesel (B7), Super Diesel or Electric.
- Sort results: by cheapest price or nearest distance.
- Station detail: all available fuel prices and directions via Google Maps.
3.2 Android app
The app additionally offers the following features, not available on the website:
- Favourites: save favourite petrol stations locally on your device.
- Push notifications: price drop alerts when a saved station's price falls.
- Onboarding: first-launch setup wizard to grant the necessary permissions.
3.3 Petrol station search and prices
The service displays petrol stations near the user's location or a chosen town, sorted by price or distance. Prices shown are indicative; the actual price at the pump may differ.
3.4 EV charging points
The service includes an Electric mode showing nearby EV charging points on the map, sorted by power output (kW) or distance. Data is sourced from OpenChargeMap (ocm.io). Information shown is collaborative in nature and may not always be up to date.
3.5 Price notifications (app only)
Users can enable push notifications to be alerted when the price at a saved station drops. By enabling this feature, the user expressly consents to:
- storage of their device's FCM token in Cloud Firestore (Google Firebase);
- periodic checking (approximately every 6 hours) of the monitored station's price;
- receipt of push notifications when a price drop is detected.
Notifications are a supplementary, non-guaranteed feature. A maximum of 5 active notifications can be set at any one time.
3.6 Cookies and analytics (website)
The website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Technically necessary cookies: essential for the operation of the site (e.g. storing cookie consent).
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 for anonymous usage measurement — only after the user's explicit consent.
Users may withdraw cookie consent at any time by modifying browser settings or clearing site data. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
3.7 Advertising
The app is free and funded by Google AdMob advertising (banners, interstitials, App Open ads). The website contains no advertising. By using the free app, users accept the display of advertising.
4. Permitted use
Use of the service is authorised exclusively for:
- personal, non-commercial consultation of fuel prices;
- searching for petrol stations and EV charging points nearby or in a chosen location;
- saving favourite stations and receiving price notifications for personal use;
- occasional sharing of links to pages on the site.
The following are prohibited:
- using the service for commercial purposes without prior written authorisation;
- systematic extraction, copying or reuse of data (scraping);
- modifying, decompiling or reverse-engineering the app;
- attempting to access or modify other users' data in Cloud Firestore;
- uploading viruses or malware, or attempting to disrupt the service;
- any action that could overload or damage the service infrastructure.
5. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without express or implied warranties of any kind. The operator shall not be liable for:
- direct or indirect damages arising from use or inability to use the service;
- errors, inaccuracies, delays or omissions in the price data shown;
- incorrect information on EV charging point availability or power (OpenChargeMap);
- failure to receive push notifications for technical reasons;
- loss of favourites stored locally if the app is uninstalled or the device is changed;
- service interruptions due to maintenance or unavailability of third-party services;
- any decision made by the user based on the information displayed.
6. Third-party services
The service uses third-party services with their own terms of use:
The operator is not responsible for the operation, availability or changes to the terms of use of these third-party services.
7. Intellectual property
The design, code, text, logos, graphics and all other original content of Fuel24 are the exclusive property of the operator and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. OpenChargeMap data is distributed under the Open Database License (ODbL). Any reproduction, distribution, modification or commercial use without written authorisation is prohibited.
8. Personal data protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to these terms
The operator reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Catania (Italy), unless mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable to EU residents provide otherwise.
